Crinoid columnal

An unusual crinoid pluricolumnal from the Lower Carboniferous of Salthill Quarry, Clitheroe, Lancashire, has a tetrastellate lumen. This may be derived from either a cupressocrinitid or a gasterocomid, two families of cladid inadunate which have previously only been reported from the Devonian.
