hi, I didn't kill Vendrick yet and didn't start the process of lowering his defenses, so I didn't kill any giant lords yet and I had some hard time with the Giant Lord in Memory of Jeigh that I just went directly to the throne of want.. but do I have to kill the giant lord now to progress to Nashandra?There is one in the area you enter with the soldiers key near the bonfire where the merchant was. There is one behind a locked door across the bridge over the area with the fire salamanders. I think the one that was near Pate is a dud.
